2009 I.E.C.A. Regionals in Spokane

Bluestone Academy took second place in Women’s Haircutting. Morgan Tilman was the student and Sephanie Tudor was her model. Many other students participated. Click to see all 12 photos.

School Christmas Tree

The students made flowers from reclaimed silk flowers and other materials that were picked up at yard sales, goodwill and the like. We are asking for a $5.00 donation for each flower to raise money for the rebuilding of the Cle Elum Senior Center. This is by far the prettiest tree we have ever had at the school.

September Food Drive

Also we did a food drive in the month of September and collected over 500 pounds of cereal for the food bank. We gave away a free hair cut for every box of cereal that a client brought into the school. It was a big success.

Congratulations Nicole Nelson!

Nicole Nelson became the first employee to ever receive 100% on a secret shopper feedback form at Gene Juarez. There was a big celebration, including the CEO visiting the salon where she works!

Nicole graduated from Bluestone Academy in 2006 and went to advanced training at Gene Juarez in 2007. She is now a color specialist at the South Hill location in Puyallup.

I.E.C.A. Fall Competition

Chemical Hair Relaxer Workshop

It was attended by both students and professionals from all over Central WA. It was put on by West Coast Cosmoprof by our sales rep Michael Felton. The demonstration was done by Joseph Bogart from Salon Voda in Seattle who is a Color and Chemical Specialist for Pravana.

He did a relaxer service using the Pravana Hair Relaxing System. It was a great opportunity for participants to both see how the product was used and the results that can be achieved. The model was very happy with the results and says that her hair even feels lighter.
